We often look at the world and find that it is in such a state of chaos. We feel inspired to bring peace to a situation, transforming the drama, but yet we are often disappointed in our best attempts to do so. But like love, "if you don't love yourself, you can't love anyone else". We cannot offer something we do not possess ourselves, regardless of our best efforts.Peace begins in our own hearts, not outside ourselves. Until it is deeply rooted in our own selves, it will not show up outwardly. It's only when we have found it in ourselves, that we can share it with others. There are some great people in this world that are already doing this, but for the rest of us, we get to really look honestly at ourselves and our relationship with peace. When thinking of these marvelous people who manifest inner peace, they are no different. They have an ego, they have chattering thoughts, and troubled emotions as we do. So what is the difference?
As we gaze out over the ocean, we see crashing waves, the debris, and objects that have collected on the surface. But if we look within at the deep ocean, it is peaceful, vast, and clear of debris. Our thoughts and feelings can simply ride the waves, without disturbing our deep inner waters within. We choose how we distribute our energy, and like anything, by practicing the peace vibration over the vibration of chaos, we continually become more serene ourselves and begin to manifest inner peace. We see our thoughts and feelings as those things on the surface, that cannot threaten our truth which is the source of our peace. When we are able to connect to our own deep waters, we create a relationship with peace that troubled waters cannot peirce. We then can inspire peace beyond ourselves. Meanwhile, let us start practicing and allowing peace to begin.
I like the metaphors.
